When we hear the word pilgrimage, we often think back to the Middle Ages in a time when life wasn’t so bright.
There are times in life where we wonder if we are going on the right path, which is why people like Elizabeth Pisani and Andrew Forsthoefel took a year out of their lives to step back and refocus.
Pilgrimages have been performed all throughout the centuries with the ideas of freeing the oppressed and to living prayerfully, but not exactly in the way of today’s guest.
Jared Brock has danced with Hasidic Jews, visited North Korea, met the Pope, written books, directed documentaries, and today we share his story.
A change of pace plus a change of place equals a change of perspective. -Mark Batterson.
I first encountered him through reading his book A Year of Living Prayerfully and felt he was another must have on the show.
His book was all round hilarious, but what captured my attention was his yearning heart for truth and understanding. He didn’t visit places with an agenda or to prove a point. He visited everywhere with an open heart.
In Today’s Episode:
- Visiting North Korea and Meeting the Pope
- The Life of Josiah Henson and Freeing the Oppressed
- Living Prayerfully
- And much more!
